John Kayden Brown  John Kayden Brown, 14, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at NMMC-Tupelo, MS. A beloved student at Pontotoc Junior High School, John Kayden was known for his love of the outdoors and his passion for fishing. He cherished spending time on fishing and hunting trips, and working on projects, often accompanied by his dear friends, Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Jennifer Lutts. John Kayden shared a close bond with his family, especially his older brother and sisters, and was known for his playful nature and love of pranks, especially scaring his uncle. John Kayden had a deep love for Jesus and the Bible, and his grandmother meant the world to him.

John Kayden is survived by his grandmother, Peggy Brown of Tupelo, who raised him; his brother, Payton Riley Brown; his sisters, Madison Brown of Tupelo and Kinsley Cagle of Oxford; his uncles, Jamey (Jim) and Reese Harper of Tupelo, and Jason Brown of Tupelo; his aunt, Connie Davis of Walnut; and several great aunts and uncles. He also leaves behind special family friends, Jimmy Lutts (Jennifer) of Tupelo.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John W. Brown, and his D.D., David Robison.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 3PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Bro. Mark Jones and Bro. Kelby Johnson officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday evening from 5-8PM and again on Tuesday afternoon from 1PM until the service time. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Belden.

Pallbearers will include Josh Dowdy, Richie Chrestman, Samuel Collier, Jesse Clayton, Shad Long, Kyle Walker, and Scott Hudson, with honorary pallbearers Jeff Davis, Austin Meeks, Levi Phillips, and Ben Johnson.
