Boater Missing In Lake Guntersville Recovered UPDATE

MARSHALL COUNTY –The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Unit has issued a statement concerning a boating accident on lake Gntersville on this past Sunday.

FINAL UPDATE On Missing Boater:  

At approximately 5:22 p.m. May 19, the missing boater, Jeremiah Gamble, 25, of Tallassee was recovered from Lake Guntersville near the Honeycomb Campground area in Marshall County.

The following agencies assisted with the search and recovery effort: Guntersville Fire Department, Guntersville Rescue Squad, Crane Hill Fire and Rescue, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, Guntersville Police Department’s Marine Unit, Marshall County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Cherokee County Rescue Squad, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Aviation Unit along with ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division. 

Nothing further is available as ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division continues to investigate.

“A single-vessel marine-related event occurred at approximately 1:23 p.m. Sunday, May 17, and has resulted in the search for a missing boater.

Jeremiah Gamble, 25, of Tallassee, was onboard a 24ft 2023 Bentley Legacy pontoon boat before entering the water in the area of Honeycomb Creek near Goat Island on Lake Guntersville in Marshall County. Gamble went below the water’s surface and did not reappear.

Gamble is currently missing at this time, and search efforts are underway.

The following agencies are currently on scene assisting with search efforts: Guntersville Fire Department, Guntersville Rescue Squad, Crane Hill Fire and Rescue, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, Guntersville Police Department’s Marine Unit, Marshall County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Cherokee County Rescue Squad, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Aviation Unit along with ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division.”
