Mrs. Mary Carole Shirey, age 83 of Boaz, Alabama, passed away on May 15, 2026. She was born on December 25, 1942, to the late Pascal Paul Brothers and Freddie Christine Dendy Brothers. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Jean Shirey; daughter, Sonya Carol Shirey; sons, Thomas Lowell Shirey, Charles Wesley Shirey, and Joseph Eugene Shirey; grandchildren, Justin Shirey, Dustin Shirey, Drew Shirey, Mikayla Jackson, Noah Jackson, Elisha Jackson, Brian Gobert, and Josh Gobert; and great-grandchildren, Payton Shirey, Greyson Shirey, Blakely Shirey, Korbyn Shirey, Westyn Shirey, Liam Shirey, Jace Shirey, Aria Shirey, Harper Shirey, and Joey Gobert; brother, Paul Brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Audrie Cryar and Barbara Ann Brothers; brother, Charles Lowell Brothers; and grandchild, Dane Shirey.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Adams Brown Service Chapel with Bro. Bobby Waddle and Bro. Shannon Burbanks officiating. Burial will follow at New Clear Creek Cemetery in Douglas, Alabama. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home.
