Billy D. Avery, age 88, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away on Friday, May15, 2026, at Lakeland Community Hospital. He was born in Alabama on June 14,1937, to John Avery and Shellie Clement Avery.
The visitation will be 11am -12 noon Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Marion County Funeral Home. The service will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel with Bro Jason Taylor officiating and burial in Love Joy Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Avery; mother, Shellie Clement Avery; granddaughters, Carly Avery, Jessica Avery; brothers, Carson Avery, Harold Avery; daughter-in-law, Ginger Avery; sister-in-law, Christine Avery; brother-in-law, Kenneth Westbrook.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife Vern Harris Avery; sons, Danny Avery (wife, Diane), Dwayne Avery, DwightAvery, Doug Avery (wife, Aileen); grandchildren, Devon Avery (wife, Jayci), Jennifer Lubawy (husband, Jesse), Darrick Avery, Bryanna Schiele, Darra Avery, Sarah Avery; great-grandchildren, Waylon Avery, Emerie Avery; sister, Carolyn Westbrook; a host of family and friends.
Marion County Funeral Home will assist the family.
