David Lynn Givens, 77, of Toney, Alabama passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Ardmore, Tennessee.
He was born on Sunday, February 13, 1949, to the late Fred Givens and the late Stella Harris Givens.
David proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon leaving the Army, David would achieve the level of 32nd Degree Mason and would go on to become an advocate for the Shriners, the disabled, the prevention of domestic violence, as well as becoming a member of the Old Geezers Riding Club. In his free time, David enjoyed watching his shows and scrolling on his phone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Stella Givens, one daughter, Trina Ray, one sister, Linda Cumbie, two brothers-in-law, Terry Sansom and James Sanders, as well as one sister-in-law, Gloria Kingsbury Wickham.
David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Givens, three daughters: Renee Debord, Monica (Rodger) Grissam, and Kerri (Calvin) Bell, one sister-in-law, Margie Sansom, nine grandchildren: Haley, Bobby, Dayton, Heather, Tyler “Austin”, Dakota, Jason, Dylan, and Tyler, as well as several beloved great grandchildren.
The family has made plans to have a private service at a later date.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
