Sandra Gayle Cook Marberry  Sandra Gayle Cook Marberry, 78, of Toney, Alabama passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on Monday, July 28, 1947, in Florence, Alabama to William Edward Cook and Addie Julia Burch Cook.

Sandra enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a passion for reading that blossomed into a career as a Library Aide for Madison Cross Roads School. That same passion would endear her to the many children she guided and cherished throughout her career. Her selflessness, compassion, and kind heart were apparent to the many people she helped over the years. She was a member of Shady Grove Church and spent countless hours volunteering.

She is proceeded in death by both of parents, her first husband, Jackie Gibson and one sister, Regina Gates.

Sandra is survived by her husband, James Horace Marberry, one son; James (Kim) Gibson of Toney, Alabama, two daughters: Janet Elliott, of Toney, Alabama, Vonna (Terry) Holder of Huntsville, Alabama, two brothers: Berry (Nancy) Cook, Greg (Brenda) Cook, one sister; Edith (Todd) Jorgenson, seven grandchildren: Tyler (Alex) Elliott, Megan (Cody) Gardner, Cody Elliott, Morgan (Tyler) Cundiff, Hunter (Sydney) Gibson, Ashley (Alex) Padgett, Kelsey (Dylan) Beauvais, eight great grandchildren: Nicholas Gardner, Charlee Elliott, Carysn Elliott, Ellie Cundiff, Jameson Gibson, Dean Padgett, Colton Padgett, Anniston Padgett, as well as a host of nieces and nephews..

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. The family will have a private burial at a later time.

Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
