Erma Lee Dixon, age 91, of Beaverton, AL, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at her residence. A service to celebrate Erma’s life will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 2:00pm at Otts Funeral Home, located at 4255 Hwy 278, Sulligent, Alabama 35586. Bro. Bill Marchbanks to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of North Alabama, care of BrightSpring Hospice Foundation at 805 N. Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222.
Erma was born on February 8, 1935 in Sulligent, AL to the late Ermon Otts and the late Doris Mae Nolen Otts. She was a graduate of Sulligent High School. Erma previously worked at McCoy Manufacturing and managed Sulligent Pharmacy. She also worked at DHR in Vernon, Piggly Wiggly in Sulligent, and was a teacher’s aide and helped in the office at Sulligent High School. She found great enjoyment in sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Erma was also known to be an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball fan and loved watching football. Her beautiful smile and bright spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved and knew her.
Erma is lovingly remembered by her children, Charlotte (Lamar) Gilliland, Angela (Kelly) Lambert, David Dixon, and Jeane (Michael) Dodd, as well as her grandchildren, Will Shadden, Abbie Shadden, Brewer (Alyssa) Gilliland, Tanner (Courtney) Gilliland, Nolen Dodd, and Eli Dodd. Her great-grandchildren, Adelyna Shadden, Nora Shadden, Vera Gilliland, and Sutton Gilliland. She is reunited in peace with her parents, Ermon and Doris Mae Nolen Otts, and her devoted husband, Henry Dixon Jr.
