unnamed (1)ATHENS-Standing For The Fallen: Athens Fire and Rescue and the Athens Police Department, along with Mayor Ronnie Marks (a Vietnam veteran), are supporting the upcoming 9/11 Heroes Run in Athens. Signs will be made from this photo to honor the memories of the 343 firefighters and 60 police officers who died at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
You can see the signs on the run route. You will also see some of our firefighters running/walking in turnout gear and our police officers providing traffic control for the safety of runners.

If you haven’t registered yet, you have until Aug. 31 to be guaranteed a race T-shirt. Use code CB1 and part of the proceeds will go to our Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives.
