Alton E. Elrod, age 66, Hackleburg, Ala., passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Russellville Hospital.

The visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Hackleburg First Baptist Church, Hackleburg, Ala. The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Cedar Tree Cemetery, Hackleburg, Ala. Officiating the service will be Brother Fred Hartley, Brother Bobby Joe Poss and Brother Larry Hill.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Ottis Elrod; and his mother, Ollie Elrod Kelly; brother, Ricky Kelly; grandson, Eric Blake Harris; and stepbrothers, Hugh and Ray Kelly.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda Elrod; daughters, Kim Palmer and David, Tammy Jones and Darrell, and Cortney McKinney and Brett; two brothers, James Ottis Elrod Jr. and Ronald Elrod; three stepsisters, Christine Reach, Jean Cody and Virginia Wolfe; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was the pastor of Centerhill Baptist Church, Plantersville, Miss.
