John David “Dave” Cortner passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 25, 2023. The youngest son of the late Clarence Cortner and Edna Prince Cortner, born on November 15, 1945. He is survived by wife, Jane; daughter, Yvette (Wade) McCallie of Tullahoma; sons, Alex Cortner of Roswell, GA and John Cortner of Tumwater, WA; brother, Bob (June) Cortner of Winchester; grandchildren, Maddie and Colin of Tullahoma; nephew, Jim (Holly) Cortner of Winchester and Jeremy (Emily) Donaldson of Huntsville, AL; brother-in-law, Murrel (Kim) Donaldson of Huntland. He was in the United States Navy for four years and his business career consisted of being a funeral director, banker and Nationwide Insurance agent. His true passion was flying, duck hunting, reading, and RVing. He will truly be missed by family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 5:00pm -8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11:00am from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
