The funeral service for Mr. Douglas Earl Baker, age 59 of Lineville, will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Pastor Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Barfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Baker passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Lineville Health and Rehab. He was a native of Amarillo, TX and lived most of his life in Clay County, graduating from Lineville High School – “Class of 1980” and later received a degree in Special Education from Jacksonville State University. He worked for Lineville Health and Rehab for 31 years and was a member of First Assembly of God Ashland.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Kathy R. Baker of Lineville; sister, Dorothy Dickson of Guin; two brothers, George L. Baker of Holtville and Albert Baker of Ashland; several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Douglas Buford Baker and Ressie Jewel Dingler Baker; brother, Dwight Baker and sister, Deborah Baker.
Mr. Baker’s pallbearers will be Mark Smith, Jennifer McGraw, Bita Rowell, Alyson Mackey, Mike Mayer and Sandra Blake.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
