Derrell Maroney age 85 of Blanche, TN, passed away June 21, 2018.
Derrell Maroney was preceded in death by his Mama, Mrs. Ivy Bell Hutto Maroney and his Daddy, Mr. Allen Richard Maroney. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Myra Joyce Harris Maroney. He was further preceded by the death of two of his daughters, Mrs. Dana Lynn Maroney Millender and Mrs. Dixie Maroney Dover. He was preceded by two Grandchildren, Elyse Michelle Millender and Theodore Louis Arighi IV. In the long line of family, he was preceded by his eight brothers and sisters. Margaret Luna, Lydia Mills, Cleo Wells, Richard Maroney, Brooks Maroney, Gilbert Maroney, Joseph Maroney and Rex Maroney.
Derrell was a Loyal Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle and you can find many other distinguished roles that he had. Most of All, He was a Friend and he was Loyal to the end.
He was dedicated to his family for his Entire Life. If someone had a need, he would try to help them find a way. It may not have always been the answer that they were looking for, but, his wisdom steered many out of harms way.
Derrell served in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1971. He is a Veteran of Korea and Vietnam. During this time, he went from an enlisted man to an officer, got married, traveled the United States and the World and with his wife Dot, had six children.
Derrell worked for TVA from 1974 until 1988. He retired multiple times, but, always went back to work. His final retirement was not until the weekend that he turned 83.
SURVIVORS: Derrell Maroney is survived by his daughters, Ivy Maroney of Lincoln County, Tennessee and Kimberrly Maroney of Port Charlotte, Florida. Two sons, Dwayne Maroney and Joseph Maroney, both of Lincoln County, TN.

Visitation for Mr. Maroney is Tues., June 26. 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. The funeral service is Wed., June 27, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
