William Phillip ‘Joe” Black

William Phillip “Joe” Black, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Helen Keller Hospital.

Joe loved hot wheel cars and watching NASCAR. He loved his family and, more than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Brother Ricky Gardner officiating. Burial will be at Belgreen Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bolton Black; son, Jeramy Black (wife, Shelbye); daughter, Angie Bogus (husband, Jason); grandchildren, Cheyenne Jones, Peyton Black, Mason Black, Chris Bogus, Jonathan Bogus, Josh Bogus, and Alyssa Taylor; great-grandchildren, Ella Bogus and Thomas Bogus; brothers, Wayne Black and Danny Black; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elsie Black, and brother, David Black.

The pallbearers will be Bradley Taylor, Chris Bogus, Jonathan Bogus, Chris Black, Jacob Black, Cody Black, Noah Daugherty, and Ben Black. The honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Black, Danny Black, and Josh Bogus.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gena Pinkard and Keller Hospice, as well as the third and fourth floor nurses and staff of Helen Keller Hospital for your love and care shown to the family during this time.
