FLORENCE, Ala. – The University of North Alabama’s new Master of Professional Studies program was recently approved by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to begin this fall. The program was approved by the UNA board of trustees June, 13, 2011, and by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE) Dec. 9, 2011.
“This will be a valuable program for working professionals looking to earn a graduate degree and to advance their careers,” said Dr. Craig Robertson, UNA director of professional and interdisciplinary studies.
The MPS is a 33-36-hour degree program, including an 18-hour core component and up to 15 hours in one of three concentration areas. Thesis and non-thesis options are available.
MPS concentration areas include community development, safety and security leadership, and information technology.
