HUNTSVILLE-The Madison County Republican Party will host its second annual Rocket City Welcome Car Show to raise funds for Wounded Warrior Alabama this weekend.
“Response from the greater Huntsville community to our first Rocket City Welcome Car Show was so incredible, we knew we wanted to make it an annual event. This is an amazing opportunity to give back to the veterans right here at home. Wounded Warrior Alabama is such a wonderful organization, and all their funding stays right here in the state helping the families of service members with day-to-day living expenses,” said Madison County Republican Party Chairman Steve Schmidt.
The car show will take place on Saturday, August 26th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Stovehouse (3414 Governors Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805). Registration for each car is $20 and goes directly to Wounded Warrior Alabama.
The car show will feature:
• Door prizes every 15 minutes and People’s Choice awards to the top-20 cars with the most votes.
• Celebrity judges U.S. Congressman Dale Strong, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Bafle, Huntsville Police Chief
Kirk Giles, Huntsville Fire Chief Howard McFarland, Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner, and Madison
County Chief Deputy District Aforney Tim Gann, who will all be presenYng awards for their favorite
cars.
• Huntsville Fire Chief Howard McFarland will be driving to the car show in a fully refurbished 1927
Aherns Fox Pumper Fire Engine!
The Madison County GOP is also hosting a silent auction as part of the event to raise funds for Wounded Warrior Alabama.
This morning of family fun will feature free coffee and donuts, free balloons and beach balls for the kids, with HEMSI giving kids tours of one of their ambulances and handing out badges, all while supplies last. A D.J. will be on hand spinning summertime music, as well as local vendors and artisans.
