FLORENCE-Florence will be hosting the 22nd Annual Urban Forestry and Horticulture Conference on Friday, March 17 from 8:00 AM until 3:00Pm at Cross Point Church located at 1350 Cox Creek Parkway in Florence.
The theme of this year’s event is “Shade Tree Mechanics” (Mechanics: The Practicalities & Details of Growing the Shade Under the Shade). Keynote speaker is Chris Francis, Certified Master Arborist. The early registration cost is $45.00 and includes lunch.
In addition, recertification classes for Green Industry Professionals will be held on Thursday, March 16, from 12:00 Noon to 4:30 p.m. Participants can receive recertification points and CEU’s.
The Public is invited. The on-site registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and the cost is $50.00.
The Conference is sponsored by the City of Florence Mayor and City Council, the Florence Beautification Board, the Florence Tree Commission, and the City’s Urban Forestry/Horticultural Department.
