FLORENCE-The 2016 W.C. Handy Music Festival logo design was unveiled today at the Florence/Lauderdale Tourism & Visitors Center.
Jessie Layne, a student majoring in graphic design and electrical engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, designed the logo which will be featured on posters, t-shirts and other materials promoting the event. This will be Layne’s first time to attend the festival.
The 35th Annual W.C. Handy Festival will be held July 22-31, 2016 at many venues around the Shoals area. One of the new features of the festival will be the UNA Summer Theatre’s production “I’ll Take You There: The Music of Muscle Shoals,” a historical music revue which will be performed at the Mane Room in Florence. Tickets are $25.00 and may be purchased online at summertheatre.una.edu
