FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a press release concerning the inditement of a 17-year-old who has been charged with Capital Murder in a 2021 homicide:
“On 02/03/2023, Quearus Ashton Coffey was indicted by a Lauderdale County Grand Jury for the crimes of Capital Murder and Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree. Coffey, 17 years of age, was adjudicated and charged as an adult. His arrest stemmed from a 2021 homicide at Qual Run Apartments, located in Florence, that took the life of Miguel Antonio Adame. Coffey and another juvenile male have been charged in the homicide.
Quearus Ashton Coffey was arrested and booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center for Capital Murder and Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree. He is currently being held without bond. $62,500
