Funeral service for William Larry Massey, 81, will be Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Lebanon Baptist Cemetery . Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Massey died on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Select Specialty Hospital. He was born April 10, 1945, to William Massey and Vera Faye Lawrence Benefield.

He was employed by the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Hartselle, prior to his retirement. He loved going to the races, whether it be dirt track,drag racing or any other types. He was a good husband, father, brother, son, and grandfather for his family.

Survivors include:

Wife – Virginia Massey

Sons- Jeff Massey (Kristy Helms), and

Dewayne Fortenberry,

Brothers- Jimmy Lawrence and

Glenn Lawrence,

Sister – Louise,

Grandchildren – Kayla Marie Massey and

Brittany Michelle Steele

and one Great Grandchild – Athena

Pallbearers will be Danny Drinkard, Dale Weaver, Michael Steele, Jimmy Mitchell, Randy Maner, and Brad Maner.
