Garry Hogan, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away February 12, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, the only child of Garry R. Hogan Sr. and Marguerite Hogan on August 18, 1941.

He attended Peabody College in Nashville, where he worked at the college radio station. After earning a master’s degree in Chemistry, he taught Chemistry at Brainerd High School in Chattanooga and was a track coach. While at Brainerd, he met Judith Ann Frappier the fall of 1964. They married in June of 1965.

Garry went on to teach Chemistry at Tennessee Tech for five years until he was called to full-time pastoral ministry. It led him to Dallas Theological Seminary where he earned his Th.M. in 1975. For over 43 years, he faithfully served and shepherded the beloved congregations His Heavenly Father gave him.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who had a passion for knowledge, a love for trains, and was an avid photographer who enjoyed documenting their family history. Garry loved taking his grandkids and family to the Space and Rocket Center. He had an amazing memory and told entertaining stories, and his mind contained a wealth of information.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy; children, Mary Lombard (Lester) of Arab, AL, Ray Hogan (Melanie) of Birmingham, AL, and Kimberley Woodhouse (Jeremy) of Blakeslee, PA; grandchildren, Joshua Woodhouse (Ruth), Kayla Woodhouse Whitham (Steven); Trevor, Garrett, and Emma Hogan, and Michael Lombard; and one great-grandson, Nathan James Whitham.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, which will be held at Calvary Bible Church, 607 Drake Ave SE, Huntsville, on February 13, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested all memorial donations to be made to Calvary Bible Church, Missions Fund.
