It is with extreme sadness that we announce the death of Mary Helen Green of Arab, Alabama. Mrs. Green passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born in Cleburne County on November 9, 1938 to Benjamin S. Edwards and Annie Kerr. She was married to William Radford Green, who preceded her in death. After graduation from high school she worked in retail management. She was a natural caregiver and enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, and the occasional conspiracy theory podcast.
Surviving Mrs. Green’s passing are her three daughters, Cynthia Howton and her husband Mark, Cathy Mendez and her husband Jesse, and Pamela McGriff and her husband Wayne. There are also grandchildren; Jonah Harris, Trevor Harris, John Perrault, and Daniel Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Madison Thomas, Cayden Thomas, Justin Allen, Preston Harris, Scarlett Harris, Elijah Harris, and Serra Harris.
Preceding Mrs. Green in death is her husband, William Radford Green, her parents, Benjamin and Annie Edwards, six brothers, and two sisters.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 on June 18, 2022 at Green Pastures Family Cemetery, 1522 Isom Road, Arab, Alabama. Service will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Jonah Harris, Trevor Harris, John Perraut, Daniel Thomas, Justin Allen and Wayne Green.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made to Hospice of North Alabama.
