Billy Wyatt Turner Sr. 74, of Athens, passed away Saturday May 14, 2022 at his residence.
Service will be 11 AM Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home with Tony Turner, James Long and Steve Dorning officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 PM until 9 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ripley Cemetery with Military Honors.
He was born January 26, 1948 in Limestone County to Lee (Shorty) and Fleecie Turner. He was a member of Riddles Chapel UMC and attended Friendship UMC. He was a retired United Methodist Minister, a Vietnam US Army Veteran, a Custodian at Clements High School and worked at Space and Rocket Center for 20 years.
He is survived by: Wife of 52 years Carolyn Turner of Athens, Sons: Tony (Chrissy) Turner of Athens, Billy Wyatt Turner Jr. of Athens, Daughter: Kim Turner Holt of Athens, Adopted Daughter: Jessica Martin of Huntsville, 7 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandson, Brothers: James Turner of Athens, Roy (Baba) Turner of Athens, Wesley (Bottie) Turner of Athens, Willie Turner of Covington, TN,Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, 4 Sisters and 3 Brothers.
Pallbearers will be : Jim Lynch, Don Turner, Michael Gray, Jason McMahan, Eric Turner and Mac McWhirter. Honorary Pallbearers will be V.F.W. Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to V.F.W. Honor Guard Burial Detail and Compassus Hospice Care.
