Lou Etta Junkins, 90, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday, September 4.
She was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. After marrying her husband, Andrew, in 1964, they moved to Huntsville. Lou Etta was a seamstress who had a passion for making clothes for family, local bands, and dance teams. She enjoyed going on band trips with her children. Late in life, Lou became a LPN and worked at Huntsville Hospital. Upon her retirement, her and her husband moved to Lake Martin. While in Lake Martin, she became a member of Lake Martin Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. After the death of her husband, she returned to Huntsville to be closer to her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Junkins; and son, David Junkins. Lou Etta is survived by her children, Linda Stafford (Danny Terry), Larry Junkins, and Michael Junkins (Janice Harrison); grandchildren, Amy Lee Stafford and Amanda Brown; great grandchild, Brycen Brown; and her brother, Hugh Smith (Patsy).
A private family memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
