George B. Campbell, age 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at South Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama.
He was born September 16th, 1939 in Luverne, Alabama, to Lee Campbell and Martha M. Campbell (Worthington).
His pride and joy were his family: children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
George worked in Law Enforcement in Alabama for 28 years until his retirement in 2000.
He was active in the Goodman Baptist Church Community in Goodman, AL. He enjoyed morning breakfast with his friends at the Goodman Store. Being outside is where he loved to be. Farming, carpentry, especially his tractors (John Deere) and Big Red (truck) and visiting with his friends was one of his joys.
Surviving is the love of his life, Marie Campbell (Jones) and their children, Bryon Campbell (Kandy), Deborah Mendez (Ed), Dianna Parker, Jerry Kent. Also, surviving siblings, Jim Campbell, Billy Campbell, Susie Watson, Jean Truax, Illa Mae (Pete) Campbell.
He is preceded in death by: parents, Carma Ann Gudith (daughter), Candace Lynn (granddaughter), siblings: Laurine, Agnes, Joe, Frank, Julia, John, Guy, Dorothy, Tom, Howard, Mary and Helen.
Cremation has taken place and there will be additional information for a graveside service at a later date with Brother Bruce Williams officiating.
