Sarah Diane Sullivan Grimaldi, age 83, passed away Monday May 10, 2021 at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada from an extended illness. Diane was born in Spencer, TN on March 8, 1938 to the late Adger Sullivan and the late Connie Lawson Sullivan Madewell.
Diane was a 1955 Graduate of Van Buren County High School where she excelled in the sport of Basketball, her team won the Tennessee State Championship. For many years she owned and operated a successful beauty salon in Niagara Falls, New York. and was known as a trend setter. She was a loving mother to her four children who referred to her as “Ma Barker”. She was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother; Donnie Sullivan, sisters; Evelyn Summerlin and Ruth Dodson.
Diane is survived by her loving family, sons; Bobby Whitlow of Las Vegas, NV and Joe (Dinah) Grimaldi of Cuba, NY, daughters; Rebecca Blomgren of Las Vegas, NV and Lori Meacham of Largo, FL, brother; A. C. Sullivan of Sparta, TN, sister; Gwen Youngblood of Bone Cave, TN, grandchildren; Brian Tweed, Michael Geck-Grimaldi, Katelyn and Cierra Grimaldi, great-grandchild; Cameron Geck. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday May 17, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Steve Breedlove officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation hours are Sunday 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Monday 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
