Charles Edward Hendon, age 69 of Winchester passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at STRHS in Winchester. A native of Franklin County he was born on November 14, 1951 to the late Robert J. and Eva Nola Johnson Hendon. Before his health began to fail and his eventual retirement, he was employed for 40 years as a nurseryman and landscaper. He accepted Christ as his personal savior under the leadership of assistant pastor Ian Qutain of Christ the Rock International Church. In his younger years he greatly enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors and going fishing. Charles was a hard worker, who had a generous spirit and pleasant personality that will be missed by many. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmy Hendon and Claude Hendon; and his four legged best friend, Champ. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Frieda Hendon of Winchester; sisters, Neva Johnson, Mary (Larry)Winton, Alice Faye Hendon all of Winchester; dedicated brothers, Billy Hendon and George Hendon, Both of Winchester; sisters-in-law, Sarah James of Tullahoma, Juanita Rowe of Winchester, Sandie (Raymond) Dixson of Tullahoma; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. A walk thru visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M., Thursday April, 8, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. The family requests that all who attend wear a mask and practice social distancing. Private services for the immediate family only will be held at a later date.
