David William Hintz of Nashville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2021 at the age of 50. David was born on August 4th, 1970, to Bill and Tina in Chicago, IL. David grew up in Oak Lawn, IL, where he had a wonderful childhood, enjoying the era of playing outside all day and drinking from the garden hose, as well as playing baseball and basketball through high school. David received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois School of Engineering as well as his master’s degree in computer science, resulting in a very successful career in the IT field. He spent 21 years of his career working for McDonald’s Corporation in Oak Brook, IL and most recently working for True Group, Inc based in Chicago, IL.
David was preceded in death by his loving mother, Martina “Tina” (Pecharich) Hintz in 1990. The thought of Tina welcoming her son home with open arms brings David’s family a beautiful source of comfort. David is survived by his college sweetheart, best friend and loving wife, Pam (Wells) Hintz. For 27 years, Pam and David built a beautiful family based on love, humor, devotion and faith. David is also survived by his three wonderful children, Sam, Jacob and Sophie. In addition, David is survived by his father, Bill and his stepmother, Paula; his brother Danny (Carrie); and sisters, Lisa and Annie (Javier).
David was always known as an incredibly hands-on father, and the Hintz house was filled with children who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their parents. David was a kind and giving man, who was, above all, completely dedicated to his family. David felt strongly about giving back to those in need and instilled that beautiful passion in his family. Over the years, David made four trips to South America and Europe with his children and nephew, building homes and improving infrastructure with Habitat for Humanity. He has left behind an extremely inspiring legacy for his children and all who were blessed to be in his life. Our family text thread and our world will simply not be the same without David’s sense of humor, love for family and life, in general.
There will be a small service for David for immediate family only at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Urbana, IL on March 5, 2021 at 10am CST.
