Florence Police Investigate Homicide

FLORENCE-On Sunday, February 14 the Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning the investigation of a possible homicide:

“On February 14, 2021, Florence Police Department patrol officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of North Royal Avenue in Florence regarding a call for medical assistance. Upon arrival, patrol officers with the police department located an African American female deceased inside of the residence.

The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Patrice Denice Lott.  We have learned that Lott’s family members last spoke to her on Friday, February 12, 2021.  Lott’s body was discovered when family members came to check on her at the residence.  The Florence Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is currently on scene.

This case is currently begin investigated as a Homicide.  We do not have a suspect at this time and are seeking the help of the community for any information in regards to the death of Miss Lott.  We have no further information to pass along at this time.  We ask that anyone with information to please contact Detective Kevin Jackson at 256-760-6557 or you can reach out to any of the contacts listed below.”
