Howard David Smith, 72, of Elmore, Alabama entered into rest on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Alabama.
Mr. Smith was born on October 4, 1948 in Coal Valley, Alabama. David was a graduate of Oakman High School in 1967. He was member of 50 years and Board member of the Bankhead Sportsman’s Club. Mr. Smith enjoyed Nascar, Auburn Football, hunting, and fishing.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 12pm-1pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held at 1pm. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery in Black Pond, Alabama.
David is survived by his wife, Hazel Spires Smith; son, Christopher Smith; daughter, Kelly Smith (Matthew) Berdeaux; grandson, Patrick Hayden (Kim) Smith; granddaughter, Mackenzie Dru Smith; brother-in-law, Richard L. Johnson; niece, Donna Christopher; brother-in-law, Gerald (Jeannie) Bryant; sisters-in-law; Nellene Spires (Dwight) Shewbart, Jennie (Paul) Roberts; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Arthur & Marguerite Cicero Smith; sister, Barbara Johnson; nephew, Darrell Johnson; and mother-in-law, Norma Martin.
Pallbearers will be, Dewayne Dees, Paul Roberts, Jason McCullar, Kevin Shewbart, Patrick Smith, and Matthew Berdeaux.
