Lt. Col. Richard “Dick” Leiby, USAF, Ret., of Huntsville, died Saturday the 14th. He was 92. Mr. Leiby was an accomplished mechanical and aerospace engineer, avid Clemson football fan, and active member of Aldersgate Methodist Church. He was preceded by his wife of 50 years, Billie Joyce Leiby, and his son, Steven Dennis Leiby.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey L. Leiby and wife, Norma, of Murfreesboro, TN, and Brian D. Leiby and wife, MiCha, of Seoul, S. Korea; brother, James Leiby of Henrico, VA; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 pm at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Earl Freeman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the following charities: Smile Train, Habitat for Humanity of Madison County, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
