Hurshel B. Rousseau

Mr. Hurshel B. Rousseau 96 of Limrock was a loving, Kind, and Caring Husband, Daddy and
Pa-Paw passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2020 at his home with his family at his side.
Mr. Rousseau was a member of The Greatest Generation serving in the US Army in World War II. Landing in Normandy during D-Day, and the other Campaigns include Northern France,
Ardennes the Battle of the Bulge, Rhineland, he was wounded in Germany on October 29, 1944
and was awarded the Purple Heart. After coming home from the war Mr. Rousseau worked at
Redstone Arsenal and retired after 40 years of service.
Hurshel is a member and a Deacon at the Union Primitive Baptist in Woodville. Hurshel also
enjoyed working in his garden. He also worked at Lucky’s Super Market bagging Groceries.
Mr. Rousseau is survived by his Wife of 73 years Bernice Stephens Rousseau. His daughter and
Son-in-law Sharon and Roger Manning, Grand Children Shannon and Clint Black, and Ryan Manning, and his great grandson Kaleb Black, his half sister Joyce Davis, and several nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Dora Rousseau, Sisters
Marjarie Whitaker, Eunice Bradford, Brothers Archie and Benjamin Rousseau.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery and a Memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Union Primitive
Baptist Church Woodville Alabama.
