Joe was born on September 28, 1934 in Somerville, AL. At a very young age he learned to work hard on a family farm.  He left home at the age of 15, deciding farming wasn’t his preferred choice in life.  He moved to Michigan to find whatever job was available to support himself.  After several years, he returned home to Hartselle.  Throughout his life he was an entrepreneur in several different businesses, from roofing, truck owner/operator, billiard hall owner, contractor, used car sales business owner.  Joe was known for his love of playing poker, trading and selling cars, Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball.  He was the family patriarch, a good provider to his family and a good, generous man that would help anyone in need.  He was loved by his wife, children and extended family.  He will be greatly missed.  A private family memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
