Johnnie Lewis Becton, age 89, passed away on March 20th in Huntsville, Alabama.

A private graveside service will be held at Valhalla Cemetery with Dr. Reverend Trav Wilson of Madison United Methodist Church officiating. Spry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Johnnie was born in Mississippi to the late Albert Scott and Estelle Becton. He is survived by daughters, Mildred Roberts and husband William of North Carolina, Susie Jordan and husband Michael of Madison, and son-in-law Johnny Lamb; grandchildren Will Roberts and wife Erin of North Carolina, Sarah Martin and husband Greg of North Carolina, Annie Jordan and Ashley Jordan, both of Madison; and great grandchildren William Roberts, Lillian Martin and Ben Martin all of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Kilpatrick Becton, his daughter Juanita Lamb, and brother Richard Becton.

Johnnie was a graduate of Mississippi State University and had two careers. His first as a Field Executive with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. A second career with Huntsville City Schools as Safety and Transportation Director. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army Reserve for over 20 years. He loved to fish and hunt and spent many happy days and nights at the deer camp.

He loved all sports and was a member of the Space City Lions Club for many years.

Memorials may be given to Madison United Methodist Church, 127 Church Street, Madison Alabama 35758.
