Evelyn "Bo Bo" Bass Briggs Evelyn “Bo Bo” Bass Briggs

Mrs. Briggs, 96, of Middleton, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Byhalia, MS.

She was born in Hardeman County on Tuesday, October 23, 1923 to the late Albert and Mary Ethel Derryberry Bass and lived here until 1962 when she moved to Memphis. She and her late husband, Elbert G. Briggs, moved back here in 1980. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Johnny Briggs; two sisters, Bea Harris and Madge Shearon; and two brothers, Vernon and Leonard Bass.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Porter’s Creek Baptist Church and in her leisure time enjoyed cooking, fellow-shipping at church, reading her Bible and gardening.

She leaves her daughter, Linda Sue (Clarence) Garcia; two grandchildren, Leah Pitzer and Scottie Wagner; and two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Lane Pitzer, all of Byhalia, MS.
