Trace Travelers: Tennessee Militia during the War of 1812

TUPELO, MS – On Saturday, January 4 from 1PM until 3PM Ranger Andy will share his knowledge of the time period with visitors of all ages through displays of reproduction equipment carried by the soldiers in the early 1800s. The event is free to the public and will be held at 2680 Natchez Trace Parkway.

During the War of 1812, parts of the Tennessee Militia traveled the Natchez Trace in 1813 during the Natchez Expedition and again after the victory at the Battle of New Orleans in 1815. Join a park ranger, in living history attire, to discover what it was like for Tennessee Militia men traveling the Natchez Trace during the War of 1812.
