Shelia Diane Burgett Staggs of Collinwood, TN was born September 25, 1953 in Columbia, TN, the daughter of Alice Frances Hendrix Burgett of Mt. Pleasant, TN, who survives and the late Frank Hugh Burgett. She was united in marriage to Grady Boyd “Shady Grady” Staggs on September 25, 1975 and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2017.
Mrs. Staggs was retired from Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company and departed this life on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee after a brief illness at the age of 66 Years, 1 Month and 17 Days.
Besides her mother, she is survived by a son, Joshua Staggs and wife, Tara of Channahon, IL; her grandchildren, “Oma’s babies”, Grady Axle and Xara Albee Staggs; a sister, Janie Howell and husband, Ray of Mt. Pleasant, TN.
Services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Larry Heard officiating. Burial will follow in McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, assisting the family. Pallbearers will be Billy Coleman, Shawn Richardson, Norman Staggs, Kenny Martin, Larry Miller and David Holt. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Ann Hendrixson, Diana Kersey, Sandra Matthews and Jimmy Esters.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 5:30 pm to 8 pm and Friday, November 15, 2019 from 1 pm to service time at the funeral home.
