Thelma Elizabeth Lee, 89, died peacefully in her sleep on October 18, 2019 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Affectionately known as “Granny”, she left this earthly world holding hands and side by side with her devoted husband William E. “Bill” Lee. They were truly a match made in Heaven.

Granny loved children and worked many years as a pre-school teacher. Her passion was to selflessly serve her family, friends and everyone that she knew. Mrs. Lee was a fabulous cook and enjoyed preparing bounteous meals for all that had need.

Anyone that was fortunate enough to be touched by Granny’s extraordinary love and kindness instantly became a better person. Through every triumph and every tragedy, she was always there with her loving arms wrapped around us. She lived her life as a model of true love, compassion and Christian values. She was a singular shining light and memories of her make us smile as we feel her tremendous love and affection. She was truly an angel on earth and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Bill Lee, who never left her side.
She is also survived by three children: Steve Lee (Jan), Kathy Lee (David) and Mark Lee; seven grandchildren: Jamison Lee, Katie Lee Roden, Reece Lee, Tiffany Lee Horton, Anna Lee, Walker Lee and Destin Rogers; four great grandchildren: Grayson Lee, Brooks Horton, Forest Roden and Collin Perry.
She was preceded in death by her 3 brothers and 9 sisters; one grandson Jared Lee; one great granddaughter Adley Horton and hundreds of dear friends.

We can only imagine the great reunion celebration that is happening in Heaven…

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 23 from 10 AM to noon at Spry Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held in the Spry Chapel at noon. Interment will immediately follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
