Louise Margaret Shirley, age 96, of Athens, Alabama formerly of Decatur, Al passed away on Monday October 7, 2019. Louise was born July 21, 1923 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas H. and Louisa Kane McClean. Her husband George H. Shirley, son Kenneth Shirley and sister Emily Van Antwerp. She is survived by her children Elizabeth McDowell and her husband Robert, Margaret Hargrave and her husband Tim and Thomas Shirley and his wife Donna. 6 Granddaughters, 1 grandson, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. Louise is a member of Central Park Baptist Church where she loved singing in the church choir as well as the Community Choir. Louise served as nursery supervisor for many years. Visitation for Louise will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery, Decatur, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Louise’s memory may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, 405 South Marion Street, Athens, Alabama 35611.
