Linda Sieglinde StruckLinda (Sieglinde) Struck, 90, of Huntsville, passed away on Sept 12, 2019. She was born on April 26, 1929 in Liberec (formerly Reichenberg), Czech Republic.

After finishing her education where she studied foreign languages, she worked in the Czech Republic as a foreign correspondent to India for a fabric manufacturer. In 1949, she and her parents immigrated to Germany. Yearning for adventure, she left to go live and work for a year in Scotland. When she returned to Germany, she worked as the executive assistant to the director at Daimler-Benz in Stuttgart. It was here that a colleague set her up on a blind date with her future husband, Heinz Struck. Heinz said that the minute he saw her step off the tram, he knew he was going to marry her. Heinz was recruited to work as an engineer on the space program with NASA so they immigrated to Huntsville, AL in 1958. Linda and Heinz moved to Monte Sano Mountain where she was active in the women’s international club, took courses at UAH and was an avid gardener and swimmer. She could be found swimming every morning in summers at Monte Sano Pool up until her late 80s.

Linda and Heinz were married for 62 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Heinz Struck; daughters, Dr. Evelyn Struck Vinopal (Tim Vinopal) and Dr. Sylvia Struck; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept 14th, from 2-4 p.m. Memorials can be sent to Laughlin Service Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Huntsville Humane Society.
