Marty Rene Carter, age 53 of Franklin, TN passed away peacefully alongside family and friends on August 10, 2019. Born in Hamilton, AL to Floyd E. Carter and Vernell Gann Carter. He served in the U.S. Army/National Guard. Marty worked as a Project Manager for Atkinson Remodeling in Nashville, TN.
Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Vernell Carter. Survived by; his loving wife Holly Hooper Mills Carter; stepchildren, Anna Morgan Mills, Hooper DeWitt Mills, Michael Bradford Mills and Charles “Charlie” Franklin Mills; sister, Janice Grace (Cully) Carter Hartsell; brothers, Hugh L. (Jeanette) Carter and Gerald Keith Carter and other loving family members.
Family will receive friends for a celebratory gathering, “visitation” Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 4-7:00PM at Fourth Avenue Church of Christ, Franklin, TN. Visitation at Fairview Freewill Baptist Church, Hamilton, AL, 4-6:00PM, August 16, 2019. A Graveside/Sunset Service will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery immediately following the visitation.
