 Deborah Charlene Miller Moffitt, a Warren County resident and Van Buren County native, was born April 14, 1957. She passed away August 2, 2019, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee Miller and Edna Louise Miller, both residents of Spencer. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Miller and Kathy Miller, as well as by her sister/aunt June Boren. Surviving siblings are Agnes (Sherman) Simmons of TN and Carolyn (Aubrey) McBride of MI.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Moffitt, and by six children: Julee (Dan) Ellsworth of VA; Bryce (Keeley) Hitchcock of TN; Mandy (Mathew) Goodwill of AZ; Lori (Patrick) Jones of TN; Blake (Lauren) Hitchcock of TN; and Brett Hitchcock of TN. She is also survived by her husband’s children: Christy (Eric) White of TN; Betsy (Justin) Shepherd of AL; Eric (Kristi) Moffitt of TN; Matthew (Jenny) Moffitt of TN; Leah (Shawn) Anderson of ID; and Holly (Clinton) Blatter of TN. Additionally, 30 grandchildren love their “Nonna.”

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she taught and led the women’s, youth, and children’s organizations for many years. She was also an entrepreneur and active member of the community.

In lieu of flowers, she requested donations to any of the following charitable organizations: Latter-day Saint Charities, Sarcoma Foundation of America, or Kids of the Community. She encouraged those who could to donate blood.

Her family will hold a memorial service at Layne Funeral Home in Spencer on Tuesday, August 6 at 6:30 pm. Visitation will precede the service at 4 p.m.
