E.B. “Sonny” Manning Jr. passed away on June 14, 2019 at age 81. The Funeral Service, conducted by Pastor Jeff Pratt, is 5 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019, in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the service. Interment in Wilson County Memorial will follow the service. Pallbearers: Jackson McFarlin, Matt McFarland, Matt Gordon, Matt Manning, Gary McFarlin, and Chip Smith. Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Shannon Tilley, Tommy Knowles, Grady Bennett, and Gwynn Lanius.
Mr. Manning was born in Carthage TN. He graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy before serving in the National Guard. Mr. Manning worked in sales and was a Charter Member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He loved car races and football.
Mr. Manning is survived by children: Brenda (Gary) McFarlin, Sharon Grosch (Chuck Hewitt), and Mike Manning; grandchildren: Courtney (Matt) McFarland, Paige (Matt) Gordon, Jackson (Kristen) McFarlin, Lee Grosch, Blake Grosch, Matt Manning, and Aubrey Manning; great-grandchildren: Bennett, John Swaffer and Collier Kate Gordon, Camden, Carter, and Brooks McFarland, Jack Walker McFarlin, and Bella Grosch; and sister: Susan Manning. He is preceded in death by mother of his children, Bettye Swaffer Manning Young, and parents Irene Bryant and Ernie Manning Sr..
