FLORENCE-Mayor Steve Holt, City of Florence Council Members, and the Florence Parks & Recreation Department are excited to announce the opening of the newly renovated pools at Royal Avenue Recreation Center and the Handy Recreation Center.
The pool renovations include re-plastering the Royal Avenue recreation pool, competition pool, and toddler pool. The cracked concrete decking was repaired, and a new zero entry rails were added going into the water. Due to flood damage, the pool motors were rebuilt, and the chemical digital feeder monitors were replaced. The Handy Recreation Pool has a new sand filter, new plumbing infrastructure, and a new softer decking around the pool. In the next few weeks, a new slide will be installed.
The hours of operation include:
OPENING DAY – 1:00 – 5:00 pm, Saturday, May 25, 2019
Memorial Day: 1:00 – 5:00 pm, Monday, May 27, 2019
June & July Hours: 1:00 – 5:00 pm, Tuesday – Sunday
August Hours: 1:00 – 5:00 pm, Saturdays & Sundays Only
The admission fees include:
Royal Ave $4.00 per person
Handy $1.00 per person
