Chester Alvin Williams, age 78 of Cherokee, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019. His visitation will be today, May 21st from 1 to 3 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Harris Chapel Cemetery with Brother Steve Slaton officiating.
Chester was a native of Cherokee, Alabama and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee. He retired from Reynolds Metals. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mable Williams; brothers, James A. Williams, Clyde Williams, Charlie Williams and Robert Williams; and sister, Margaret Ogletree.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Williams; his sons, David Williams (Phyllis) and Brian Williams (Lisa); his daughter, Sherry Waldrep; sister, Joyce Billings; and grandchild, Holly Williams.
His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
