Charles Edward Spencer, Sr., 77, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at his residence. He was born May 26, 1941 in Franklin County, AL to Jerome Spencer and Bessie King Spencer. He worked in maintenance at Sunshine Homes for twenty-nine years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Belmont, MS.
Services will be Friday, March 15, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Larry Hill, Bro. Chris Higginbottom and Bro. Barry Holcomb officiating. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven and one-half years – Ann Spencer, Vina, AL; two children – Sarah Nichols (Kenny) Hamilton, AL and Charles Edward Spencer, Jr. (Misty) Vina, AL; six grandchildren – Brandie Davis (Jason), Tracy Wells (Kollin), Erica Grimes (Zach), Samantha Stallworth (Trei), Logan Spencer and Chad Nichols (Kelli); ten great-grandchildren – Jacob Davis, Jaycee Davis, Gretchen Davis, Bryce Wells, Addison Grimes, Rykki Stallworth, Donnie Stallworth, Cameron Nichols, Asher Nichols and Deacon Nichols and one sister – Barbara Kennedy, Belmont, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, James Robert Spencer, Larry Spencer, David Spencer and Danny Spencer, a brother-in-law, Gene Kennedy and a son-in-law, Ricky Holland.
Pallbearers will be Jason Davis, Jacob Davis, Kollin Wells, Zach Grimes, Trei Stallworth, Chad Nichols, Logan Spencer and Anthony Spencer.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 14, 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
