Mildred E. Kennedy – Obituary

Mildred E. Kennedy, 85, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at her residence.  She was born March 25, 1933 in Hodges, AL to George “Cap” and Ada West.  She was a member of Red Bay First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 27, 2 p.m. at Red Bay First Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Hill and Bro. Bill Harper officiating.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by one daughter-Elizabeth Elder (Jeff) of Madison, AL; two sons-Keith Kennedy (Janet) and Mike Kennedy (Beverly) all of Red Bay; seven grandchildren-Kreg and Kurt Kennedy; Brent and Trish Elder and Allie, Alex and Anna Kate Kennedy; two sisters-Virginia Crawford of Clarksville, TN and Jo Anna Cathey of Mt. Juliet, TN and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband-Jerold Kennedy; a son-Brent Kennedy and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Kreg Kennedy, Kurt Kennedy, Brent Elder, Alex Kennedy, Larry Ayers and Brett Ayers.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 26, 5-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. She will lie in state Sunday, January 27, 1-2 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at the Red Bay First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 1203, Red Bay, AL 35582.
