Carl "Moody" Davis Carl Moody Davis Carl Moody Davis, 83, of Owens Cross Roads. Alabama, passed away on December 30, 2018. He was born on November 8, 1935, in Stanton, Alabama. He was the son of Rev. John Lee and Tarva Harrison Davis who preceded him in death. On June 20, 1958, he married Billie Faye Wyatt, who survives. After graduating from The University of Alabama in 1960, he worked for Marshall Space Flight Center/NASA as a mechanical engineer for 35 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Huntsville for over 57 years, and was actively involved in the church as a trustee, Sunday School teacher and Choir Director. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Doug Smith of Social Circle, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law Karla and Gary Fields of Gurley, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Cindy Davis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandchildren Heather and Luke Johnson of Athens, Alabama; Harrison & Brittnie Fields of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama; Landon, Stanton and Sidney Fields of Gurley Alabama; Savannah, Julia and Colby Davis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Emma and Davis Smith of Social Circle, Georgia; great-grandchildren Katelyn and Leelan Johnson of Athens, Alabama; sister Naomi Davis Hughey of Norris, South Carolina; Brothers Charles E. Davis of Sylacauga, Alabama and Morris L. Davis of Brevard, North Carolina and sister-in-law Vinelle Davis of Brevard, North Carolina. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Huntsville First Church of the Nazarene and the Service will be held Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Huntsville First Church of the Nazarene, Huntsville, Alabama at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Hampton Cove Cemetery in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
