George William Cantrell – Obituary

George William Cantrell, age 86, of Russellville, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, noon-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. His funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Brother Troy Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Cantrell served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was retired from Southern Railway. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Littleville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clovis Cantrell; and his son, Dewayne Cantrell.

He is survived by his sons, Lyman Cantrell and wife, Barbara, of Tuscumbia, Malcolm Cantrell, of Muscle Shoals; daughter, Beth Cantrell Turner and husband, Greg, of Seymour, Tenn.; daugter-in-law, Annette Cantrell; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Blaine Cantrell, Chris Cantrell, Jor-El King, Tracy Martin, John Clement and Dr. Gaylon Kiser.

Honorary pallbearer is Lowell Hand.
