Judith Ann Scarnati Stidger – Obituary

Judith Ann Scarnati Stidger, 75, of Decatur, was born on June 24th, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA to Italian American parents. She passed away on August 16th, 2018. Her visitation will be on Monday, August 20th, at 12:00pm. The Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home, with Father Wyman Vinston officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Reception to immediately follow in the chapel.

Judy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Cecil Stidger, who has been her constant and dedicated caregiver for the past decade; three daughters, Roseann Cotney (Peter), Karen Gabani (Yasir), and Connie Thorn (Kepp); one son, William Shaffer (Kerri); one granddaughter, Sophie Thorn; five grandsons, Zac, Joey, Jon, Josh, and Zane; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ron and Montez Hostetler; and niece, Zia Romines.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Rose Scarnati; and one sister, Connie Molinari.

Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She spent her life taking care of the people she loved, including her aging parents and mother-in-law. Judy loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially teaching them how to cook Italian food and her special “baby” soup. She loved her family very much and was surrounded by them during her last days.

Pallbearers include family and friends.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Roselawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
