Mrs. Patricia “Patsy” Langley Kennemer, age 80, a resident of Williamsport Pike in Columbia, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at NHC Columbia. Born in Lewisburg, Tennessee, she graduated from Columbia Central High School where she excelled at bookkeeping. Pat was a long time resident of Columbia, where she was a nurse at Maury Regional Medical Center, Maury County Ambulance Service, and many private doctor’s offices around Columbia, Relief Nurse for Occidental, Monsanto, General Electric. She retired from Union Carbide as the Plant Nurse. Mrs. Kennemer was a former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star Chapter 287. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church for many years.
Patsy was extremely creative and talented, and she loved painting and quilting. She lived an adventurous and joy-filled life. She loved her children with her whole heart and soul, and her greatest joy was having them with her for good eats and lots of laughter. She also loved her grandchildren, who adore her and grew up staying with their “Pappie,” and learning her country expressions. There was always fun and laughter. Pat loved traveling until her health in later years prevented it. She and her husband, Rewoy, loved camping and fishing, especially with the grandchildren. She relied on grace and determination to accomplish many things throughout her life.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Vassar and Zackary Langley officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
She is survived by her husband: Leroy Kennemer of Columbia; sons: Myron Kenneth “Kent” (Leanna) Langley of Columbia, Robin Keith (Breanna) Langley of Columbia; daughters: Cynthia “Cindy” Maidale Langley of Mt. Juliet, Lorie Ann Langley of Culleoka; step-daughter: Carolyn Gail Scott of South Carolina; sister: Linda (Joe) Jones of Marietta, GA; grandchildren: Chelsia (Tyler) Daugherty, Zackary (Lauren) Langley, Mackenzi Langley, Alexander Langley, Abrielle Langley, Adrianna Langley, Brenna (Tim) Ray; and great grandchildren: Braylen Daugherty, Bentley Daugherty, Aniyah Grace Daugherty, Brynlee Jeannette Langley, and Kara Renee Langley; nephew, Chris Briglio; and niece, Briana Lowe.
Pallbearers will be: Zackary Langley, Alexander Langley, Tyler Daugherty, Mike Beard, Randall Rummage, and Chris Ray.
Honorary pallbearers will include: Harold Wheeley, Joyce Chumley, Joann Mingledorff, Betty O’Connor, Martha Morgan, Dr. Gaylon Harris, and the past employees of Union Carbide.
